Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science & Technology is delighted to announce the 15th Edition of its annual Mega event VISAI 2025 -15th International Project Competition & Exhibition on 24th Feb 2025.
Vel Tech had been organizing this International Student Project Competition which is titled as “VISAI” (VISAI in Tamil means the “The Impelling Force/Energy “), every year as nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mind-set of problem solving, opportunity for start-ups and collaborative research.
Since last three years, Vel Tech organized this event in joint collaboration with Indian National Commission for Cooperation with UNESCO (INCCU) and the same is awaited this year also.
We invite student Projects under two broad categories as under:
1.SDG Projects: i.e. Student projects under 8 themes of SDG (Sustainable Development Goals set by United Nations). namely,
- Affordable and Clean Energy,
- Clean Water and Sanitation,
- Climate Action
- Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
- Life Below Water
- Life on Land
- Responsible Consumption and Production
- Sustainable Cities and Communities
Students can submit project abstract of their own on any one of the themes of SDG.(For more details on SDG, please refer to website on https://sdgs.un.org/goals as well as www.veltech.edu.in/visai2025)
- 2.Hackathon Projects: i.e.Problem Statements given by Industries as student projects. Students are advised to look for the Problem statements from industries which will be uploaded in the website: veltech.edu.in/visai2025. Students may choose any Problem statement and submit their Ideas/Abstract as solutions.
Participation in Hackathon Projects gives real time exposure to students to work with Industry experts on these specific problems for which these industries are looking for innovative ideas from the students.
The Benefits of participation:
Ø The best projects in each SDG Theme as well as the best solutions for Hackathon Projects will be selected for awards and Prizes. We have declared a prize money Rs.2,50,000 for the winners and also included few Surprise Gifts.
Ø Unlike other Project competitions, Participation in VISAI is not a single day activity but is extended for selected teams through virtual sessions by Industry experts till Technical Paper Presentation/Patent filing, thus bringing laurels to students/Faculty and the participating Institution. Selected teams are further mentored by industry experts till Technical Paper Presentation/Patent filing.
Ø Apart from awards, participating students have the opportunity to get incubation support financially up to Rs.8 lakhs from Vel Tech Technology Business Incubator (Vel Tech Technology Incubator, supported and funded by Department of Science & Technology enables start-ups across a wide-spectrum of thrust areas with funding).
Ø Mere participation enhances employability of participating students. as this event is well recognized by leading industries for the quality of output.
Ø Students get an opportunity to showcase Technical prowess to various participating industries, leading to enhancement of new skill sets along with its application in industry.
Registration Fees:
For Diploma / Engineering/ Arts & Science: Rs.1000 per team (Not more than 3 members).

- To encourage as many Team as possible to register.
- To advise your students to submit their project abstract along with payment, through the portal: www.veltech.edu.in/visai25specifying the category whether under “SDG Projects” or under “Hackathon Projects” on or before 15th January 2025. Students are advised not to wait till the last date as we may restrict the number of participating teams.

Salient points to be noted by students:
- Students to submit abstract submission and make payment together.
- Since this event will be completed on the same date, no accommodation will be made available for outstation students.
